Casey Epton Roush is a dedicated community advocate with a heart for service and connection. For the past six years, she has been the driving force behind all events at Provision Packs, passionately planning and executing experiences that bring people together and support families in need. She has a deep love for the mission of Provision Packs—providing meals to our local kids and reducing childhood hunger in the community, one pack at a time.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Casey is the founder and owner of Rising Lotus Marketing and Event Management, where she channels her creativity and organizational expertise into crafting impactful events and strategic marketing solutions.
Outside of work, Casey treasures time with her daughter, Hailley Jo, and the close circle of friends she considers family. Her life and career are fueled by her unwavering commitment to building community, fostering joy, and making a difference.

Dawn De Jesus has been involved with provision packs for the past 10 years. She became an executive board member over 7 years, as the secretary. She was named operation manager in December 2024. Since becoming responsible for the menu, for the weekly bags, searched out other sources of protein, and more cohesive menu options, all the while, looking for healthier options.
Dawn is very proud to say that “what we do at provision packs makes a large impact in the lives of the children we feed. They are empowered to bring the food home. the children know someone cares and wants to help them”. Her why is, “I have seen the face of hunger directly. My great niece and great nephew came to live with us, they arrived dirty, smelly and eating out of dumpsters. This was such an extreme she knew nothing about.” very shortly after, Dawn was introduced to Carrie Torres, when she was the PTA president, at Ortona elementary. Our school was then signed up for provision packs, and there began the change she wanted to see in the world. Dawn will continue to be the change for as many as she possibly can!

Lara Butera Lara felt the pull to get involved with Provision Packs in 2017 after watching a video shared by founder Carrie Torres. As a mom to an infant daughter and a kindergartner at the time, she was shocked to learn that children at her own elementary school were going hungry — and she picked up the phone to get involved that very day.
Since then, Lara has worn many hats within the organization, serving first as Board Secretary, then as Volunteer Coordinator, and eventually finding her home in overseeing silent and live auction items for Provision Packs’ signature fundraising events: the Backpack Bash and the River Scramble. Her work combines organization, heart, and a passion for bringing people together for a cause that matters deeply to her.
Lara also served on the PTA Board at her son’s school and ultimately as PTA President. Being on campus regularly gave her firsthand insight into the very real impact of childhood hunger in local schools — further fueling her commitment to the mission of Provision Packs.
In addition to her volunteer work, Lara is an ACE-certified personal trainer. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she lives in Ormond Beach with her husband, their two children, and their beloved pets; a cat and a dog. She’s honored to serve alongside her Provision Packs family and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families in her community.

Melissa Pitts and her husband Damion own Blue Chip Shutters & Blinds in Ormond Beach. They support every event that Provision Packs holds. Melissa has been involved with Provision Packs since 2020. She delivers packs to the Holly Hill School during the school year and sees first hand the difference Provision Packs makes in the lives of the children we serve. Her passion is to help the mission in any way she can.

Founder & Director
Carrie Torres is the founder and Director of Provision Packs. “The story of our mission comes straight from my heart. It’s about loving thy neighbors, building a community together, supporting children, and most importantly, living beyond myself. Like many of us, life has been a roller coaster—blessings come and go, good times come and go, and sometimes life is harder today than it was yesterday. But at the end of the day, many of us are blessed enough to take a moment and a “pack”, and invest in a child’s health, both physically and emotionally.
Over the past four years, I’ve often said that if Covid taught us anything, it’s how quickly life can change and how we can go from thriving to struggling. Not all of us can always help, and sometimes those who help may find themselves in need of help. I hope that together we continue to build a community that always has a hand up.
Most of all, I want to thank each of you for trusting me to lead this organization. To our supporters and donors, it is the greatest honor that you invest in Provision Packs so that we can invest in our community. To those who have received our packs, I hope you feel the love from myself and everyone within Provision Packs.”
